Component makers participate in US Tech Expo

A consortium of 20 Indian auto
component manufacturing companies recently participated in a ‘Tech Expo’ with 5
global OEMs in USA. The initiative was led
by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA).
The Tech Expo was supported by
the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. The expo lasted five days and was organised with the
support from companies like Ford, Fiat Chrysler, Cummins, Kohler, Polaris and few
tier I companies from in and around Indianapolis. More than 800 visitors
came in for the show. A team
of 32 delegates from 20 member companies travelled together, covering cities
from Detroit to Minnesota.

President, ACMA said
the initiative of this kind was to strengthen the companies’ relationship
and enhance business opportunities with the OEMs from different countries.
According to an ACMA press
note, the initiative was conceptualised keeping in mind the need of
International Purchase Officers (IPOs) who have been looking for innovative and
cost effective procurement solutions. The expo facilitated direct interaction between
OEMs and Tier I manufacturers.
ACMA had also participated at
the Automechanika Dubai 2014 along with its 46 members who displayed their
products at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Automechanika Middle East is one of the prime
automotive trade shows in United Arab Emirates. The show featured key aftermarket
products including workshop equipment, bodywork and paintwork, car wash, IT
& management, tyres and batteries.
